Team Named For Kitty Michael Golf Tournament
During the week of April 20 – 24, the 37th Annual Kitty Michael Golf Tournament for Women will be held in Bermuda, with the event taking place at the Port Royal Golf Club, with the players and guests staying at the Fairmont Southampton.
The Bermuda Team will be the official host for this prestigious event comprising of a total of [98] lady players from Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Montreal, Toronto, Baltusrol, South East Florida, South West Florida and Ocean Reef, St. Croix and Trinidad.
This year the Bermuda Team will be represented by Gladys Chambaz, Synda Perry, Pat Morgan [Vice Captain], Gursharn Harvey, Ann Symonds, Valerie Nearon [Captain], Katyna Rabain, Tracy Nash, Joanne Bielby, [missing Betty Ann Sudbury]
Each team consist of a minimum of three players and a maximum of 10 players with official winners being determined by the total best 3 net and 3 gross scores over a 54 hole event.
The tournament was the brain storm of Mrs. Kitty Michael, a resident of Puerto Rico, to promote and develop friendship and social amateur competitive golf among women golfer throughout the Caribbean, and subsequently teams from the United States and Canada were invited to participate.
