Kyrah Scraders Wins Second Medal At Carifta

Kyrah Scraders has won her second — and Bermuda’s third — medal of the 2015 Carifta Track & Field Games at the Silver Jubilee Athletic Stadium in St. Kitt’s, claiming the silver medal in the Under 20 800m event.

During the final, Ms. Scraders clocked a time of 2:12.16 to finish second and pick up the silver medal, with the Bahamas’ Shaquania Dorsett claiming gold with a time of 2:11.99, and Jamaica’s Lisa Buchanan claiming the bronze in a time of 2:13.26.

Ms. Scraders previously claimed the island’s first track and field medal of these games as she crossed the line third in a time of 4:41.76 in the 1500m to win the bronze medal, and Sakari Famous also added to Bermuda’s track and field medal tally, claiming a bronze medal in the high jump event.
