NVCC Appoints Richard Todd As Head Coach
North Village Community Club has appointed Richard Todd as its new Premier Division Head Coach.
Mr. Todd, who signed a two-year deal with the club said, “I am delighted to return to North Village. I came through the youth ranks of North Village and the club was very influential in terms of my development as a player and ultimately my continued growth within the game of football.”
Mr. Todd left Bermuda to attend Alabama A&M University where he played football for 4 years and later senior captained his team. Mr. Todd spent a year as a student graduate assistant at the university while also playing in the United Soccer League for the Chattanooga Express, gaining experience playing as a semi-professional both indoors and outdoors.
After graduating from university he worked at a private school and ran the soccer program, which included varsity boys and girls from middle to high school. These teams had several successful state championship wins. Mr. Todd later spent 2 years in Birmingham, Alabama as the academy director for Vestavia Hills Soccer Club before returning to Bermuda. He has completed several KNVB as well as US Soccer courses.
He has a Brazilian Football coaching license, a NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and just recently received the NSCAA Director of Coaching Diploma. His extensive network of contacts include Brazil, US, UK and Mexico at both club and collegiate level. Mr. Todd has recently finished working as the National Academy Director role with the Bermuda Football Association
North Village President, Stephen Coddington, stated “In Richard I believe we have a head coach who, with his high energy passion for attacking football, will embrace the style of play we associate with our club. He has a proven ability to develop each player as an individual, whilst building great team spirit and a winning mentality.”
