Photo Set #2: Berkeley’s Sankofa Fashion Show

The Berkeley Institute Class of 2015 is hosting their Sankofa Fashion Show this weekend with the first performance last night [May 8] and another show tonight in the Berkeley Institute Cafetorium. See our first set of photos here.

Models scheduled to appear included Azana Riley, Jordan Payne, Noah McHardy, Zamora Symonds, Joshua James, Diesha Tucker, Gianne’ Paynter, Kalen Mills, Shu’ayb Nasir, Rhiana Allen, Victoria Lindsay, Mustafa Ingham, Jordan Bascome, Gilat Smith, Rhema Webb-Hollis, Zahry Swan, Kasiya Francis, Jahqui Swan, Rael Simons, Domoniquei Place, Brianna Bean, Shirina Simmons, Aaron Holdipp, Dazhanae Rawlins, Raiyn Richardson, Jahlae Raynor and Dee-Neisha Zuill.

Other models listed included Shayla Fox, Kenzo Iris, Asha Robinson, Devine Easton, Jendéya Smith, Daelyn G1asgow-Thomas, Jaidah Bailey, Dianni Minors, Kyesja Hypolite, Max Stirling, Marcus Henschke, Chinyere Nwasike, Don DeSilva, Stephen Dill, Ashaki Arnold, Amani Wears, Kezia Battersbee, Sckye Dickinson, Jordan Pitt-Brimmer, Quinceé Dill, Seth Henscke, Dominique Ford-Eve, Jalen Means, Jada Dean, Chae’ Hollis and Skye Burrows.

The host for the evening was S4 Berkeley student Shomari Talbot-Woolridge who kept the audience entertained and laughing in between the different sets which included Spectrum, Aligned, New World, Knee Deep, Overdose, Funky Fad and Ascending before the final set, Go Back and Get It.

Stage Manager was T’Yanna Hayward while crew included Derrica Saunders, Jai’Onni Outerbridge, Son-J Hall and Michaela Lambe. Wardrobe assistance was given by Faheemah Scraders, Rickeisha Trott, Cheyenne McCallan, Teiyah Durham and Tatiana Gilbert while the light technician was Jonari Smith and sound technician were Malik Alick and Lamar Samuels.

Ushers included Juvenal Gonsalves, Shalika Robinson, Breanna West and Jahkai Smith while props and performing extras were Chelsea Ray, Josh Hardtman, Cheyne Smith, Taja’mes Branch, Jaha Matthews, India Rayner, Desiree Furbert, Yolanda Dyer, Imani Bean, Kayla Tucker and Latisha Francis.

    nice pictures, just missed the essence of the “Sankofa” which has a deep meaning and is an African word from Akan tribe in Ghana…Akan people quest for knowledge based on critical examination, intelligence and patience, and they believe that in moving forward the past should never be forgotten ..It is also accompanied by the symbolic bird… there are no zebras, leopards, tigers in Ghana.. just to be on the real…
