‘You Go Girl’ Female-Only Relay Set For June 7
The “You Go Girl” female-only relay is set to see its fourth year unfold on June 7 starting at 8.30am, with a new route located in the City of Hamilton.
Sponsored by Oil Insurance Ltd and Kotex, the event is being organized by Mid Atlantic Athletic Club. The team size consists of three women, with the relay featuring three legs of 2 km, organized as a train where the first person does all three legs or 6K, the second person does two legs or 4K, and the third person does 2K.
As a train, at the end of each leg, the next person joins their team member, so that at the end of all legs all team members must finish together.
The “You Go Girl” relay route:
The entry fee for competitive teams is $30 per person [$90 per team], $5 per person [$15 per team] for junior teams, and $20 person [$60 per team] for non-competitive teams. Partial proceeds of all entry fees plus all funds donated separately online will be donated to the Women’s Resource Centre.
Number pickup will be between 10.00am and 12.00pm on June 6 at the Women’s Resource Centre, Charities House, on Point Finger Road in Paget. Late entries, costing an extra $5.00 per person, will be accepted at number pick-up only; no late entries on race day.
The event’s divisions include Family [Mothers/Daughters/Sisters/Aunts/Cousins including in-laws], Corporate [all members of the same company or organization], Masters [all members 40 and over], Open, Competitive Walk, and Non–Competitive Run/Walk.
First prizes will be awarded in each division of the competitive categories, with an additional prize for the team that raises the most sponsorship money. All entrants will be eligible for numerous prize draws.
