2015 National Dance Scholarships Available

The National Dance Foundation of Bermuda has announced their major scholarship awards for 2015, with all awards supporting study overseas as a dance major at an accredited university or conservatory.

The Catherine Zeta Jones Scholarship in honour of Patricia Calnan valued at $15,000 will be awarded to a dancer who demonstrates exemplary talent and commitment to pursue advanced dance training as a dance major at a recognized university or other professional programme overseas.

The Montpelier Re Foundation Scholarship in honour of Madame Ana Roje valued at $7,500 will be awarded to a dancer or teacher who demonstrates excellence in ballet and the commitment to further his or her ballet training in a professional programme overseas.

The Montpelier Re Foundation Scholarship in honour of beloved former Board member, Georgine Mary Russell Hill valued at $7,500, will be awarded to a dancer, teacher or choreographer who supports the mission of the National Dance Foundation of Bermuda and is dedicated to raising the standard of dance excellence in Bermuda. The successful candidate must demonstrate the talent, skill and commitment to pursue advanced dance training at a recognized university or another professional programme overseas.

The BF&M Scholarship in honour of a founder member of the Bermuda Ballet Association, Mr. L. John Profit, valued at $7,500 will be awarded to a dancer, teacher or choreographer who demonstrates the talent, skill and commitment to further his or her dance training overseas.

In addition to these scholarships, bursary funds may be considered for qualifying applicants. Applicants are asked to apply through bermudascholarships.com

The Deadline for receipt of applications is no later than 5pm on Friday, June 26, 2015. No exceptions will be made. Candidates who are shortlisted will be notified to attend a personal interview on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
