AOK Fitness, BFRS Hold ‘Fireman Boot Camp’
The men and women of Masterworks AOK [Art Outreach for Kids] Fitness Fundraising put their strength and agility to the test recently at the Bermuda Fire Station in Hamilton for the Fireman Boot Camp, part of a 6-week fitness and clean eating challenge organized by AOK volunteers.
Firefighter Lionel Furbert, Acting Sergeant Delton White, Acting Divisional Officer Troy Furbert and Firefighter Gayle Thorne of the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service donated their time to create a challenging obstacle course for the participants complete with a ladder raise, hose pull and many more physically demanding tasks.
Individuals were timed on the course and earned points toward the overall competition that ended on Friday, June 12, with the winners announced on Tuesday, June 16.
Masterworks AOK is a volunteer group raising money through fitness to make art education accessible to all children in Bermuda. Fitness classes are held Monday through Friday at the Academy of Martial Arts on King Street in Hamilton.
