July 14, 2015

The Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies [BFIS] and Drinker Biddle are hosting a forum titled, Driving Innovation: Why Insurers Are Establishing Corporate Venture Programs.

The event will take place on Thursday, July 16 from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Fairmont Hamilton Princess. A cocktail reception will follow the presentation. This is the fourth year that Drinker Biddle and BFIS have hosted an insurance focused seminar.

Industry leaders from around the world will be in attendance to provide an overview of the significant and sustained growth in the establishment of corporate venture programs globally and how the insurance industry can follow a similar innovation path.

The featured speakers are Eric Steager, the Managing Director of the Independence Blue Cross Strategic Innovation Portfolio, and Ian Goldstein, a Drinker Biddle partner leading the firm’s corporate venture team.

Together they will use Independence Blue Cross as a market example, and examine the different types of corporate venture programs being established and how insurers and others in the insurance/financial services industry are using such programs to drive growth and innovation.
