Healthy Choice 5K Road Race Set For July 12
The Healthy Choice 5k Road Race Run And Walk is set to be held on Sunday July 12, starting from Butterfield & Vallis on Orange Valley Road in Devonshire.
The event – organised by the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club and sanctioned by the Bermuda National Athletics Association, with timing supplied by Bermuda Timing Systems – will see walkers get started at 8.15am, while runners will begin at 8.30am.
The route will start at Butterfield & Vallis, then go left onto Middle Road. Participants will go down the hill and then left onto Parsons Lane, following Parsons Lane all the way to Palmetto Road before turning left on Palmetto Road and left again on Frog Lane.
Keeping left at the roundabout and going up Montepelier Road and then left onto Middle Road, participants will turn left into Orange Valley and down into Butterfield & Vallis.
To enter the event, return a signed entry form below, along with correct cash or cheque payable to MAAC, to Sportseller, or enter online no later than 6.00pm on Friday, July 10.
The entry fee is $15 for juniors, $30 for adults, and $25 for MAAC members – all fees include a mandatory BNAA Registration Fee. Late entries cost $35.00 at race number pick-up at Butterfield & Vallis, Orange Valley between 10.00am and 12.00pm on Saturday, July 11; no late entries will be accepted on the day of the event.
Awards and prizes will be available the first and second female and male runners in categories including under 18; 18 – 29; 30 – 39; 40 – 49; 50 – 59; 60+; as well as the first and second male and female walkers. Prizes include a Trek Hybrid Pedal Cycle From Winners’ Edge, an iPod Shuffle, and gift vouchers from Sportseller
