The launch coincided with the official start of Tattoo ticket sales and provided further details on the lineup of local and international musical acts; including:

  • From Bermuda: The Band and Corps of Drums of the Bermuda Regiment; The Bermuda Islands Pipe Band; Somerset Brigade Band, and; The Bermuda Tattoo Choir [a specially assembled gentlemen’s chorus under the direction of Lloyd Mathew].
  • From the United Kingdom: 19 Regiment Royal Artillery Pipes and Drums; The Waterloo Band of the Rifles; 3rd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland Pipes and Drums [the Black Watch], and; The Band and Corps of Drums of the Royal Logistic Corps.

  • From Canada: The Regimental Band of the Governor General’s Foot Guards; The Pipes and Drums of The Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa; Toronto Police Pipe Band, and; 36 Halifax Pipes and Drums.

Governor George Fergusson, the Commander-in-Chief of the Bermuda Regiment, said: “We are now well into the year-long series of events proudly marking 50 years of service to the community of Bermuda.

“I wish the Regiment well as it continues to distinguish itself during a very busy anniversary year, and commend all who will make the Bermuda Tattoo a resounding success.”

Major Dwight Robinson, Director of Music, The Bermuda Regiment said: “The Bermuda Tattoo 2015 builds on the tremendous successes of those held in 2005 and 2009. As before, we expect this to be very popular locally and also generate many visitors to the island.

“Joining the talented local lineup will be international groups specially selected not only for their musical and performing excellence, but because many have long-established relationships with the Regiment and Bermuda.

BR50 Committee Chair Stephen Caton said: “The Bermuda Tattoo will be the glittering highlight of the Bermuda Regiment’s 50th Anniversary year. Both the international and local participants in the Bermuda Tattoo underscore the theme of the BR50 celebrations—Reunion.

“To be certain, this year’s show will be without equal and will present the most diverse group of participants on the same ticket. Tattoo attendees will be delighted, awed and inspired.”
