Veendam Cruise To Return To Hamilton In 2016
Saying that their “Bermuda cruises in 2015 have been a huge success,” Holland America Line has announced that the Veendam cruise ship will return to Bermuda in 2016.
The announcement said, “Guests looking to spend a few days immersing themselves in the laid-back lifestyle of Bermuda can embark Holland America Line’s ms Veendam for seven-day cruises to the island in May and June 2016.
“Sailing roundtrip from Boston, Mass., the four departures each feature two half-days, two full days and three nights at Hamilton, the country’s capital, known for its pink-sand beaches, pastel architecture and exceptional golf courses.
“Carrying just 1,350 guests, Veendam offers an ideal mid-sized, premium cruise experience in Bermuda that enables the vessel to dock at Hamilton, in the center of town.

“The seven-day voyages spend a day at sea after departing Boston and arrive at Hamiltonmid-day, with enough time for guests to go ashore and enjoy the town.
“The ship then spends three nights, including two full days and another half day, serving as a base from which guests can experience local nightlife and dine ashore, if desired.
“While in Hamilton, the ship’s facilities including lounges, entertainment venues, the casino and gift shops will be open so guests may relax and enjoy the shipboard life as well.
“Veendam departs Bermuda mid-day on day four at the island, with two nights and a full day at sea before arriving back at Boston.
“Our Bermuda cruises in 2015 have been a huge success, and we’re excited to take more guests to the beautiful island in 2016,” said Orlando Ashford, Holland America Line’s president. ”
It’s rare for cruisers to get to spend three nights in a port, and this itinerary is the perfect opportunity to take advantage of all that Bermuda has to offer — both during the day and evening.”
The seven-day Bermuda itinerary can be combined with a seven-day Canada/New England cruise to create a 14-day Bermuda &Canada/New England Collectors’ Voyage.
Cruise fares begin at $799 for the seven-day cruises and $1,449 for the 14-day Bermuda & Canada/New England Collectors’ Voyages, all per person, double occupancy.
GLAD the Veendam be returning in 2016 . ONLY 4 trips . Hope it is increased to “12″ trips each year ahead.
So why not a stop in St G along the way. I mean for Godsake whats up with StG always getting dissed?
Unfortunately its draft will not permit it to enter the harbour Maybe something can be done about that, “obstacle” so that them in St. George’s may also enjoy her presence. Who knows what may occur if Holland America Lines can possibly increase the Veendams visits by being allow to stay in St. Georges for a time…
Out of curiosity, is it feasible for us to have the former channel leading into St. George’s harbour dredged…Just a thought.
Excellent!
Well done all involved.
Seriously people are excited about a few trips? I was expecting to see that it was coming every week for the whole season!
I was talking to a guy from it last week who told me that he had to pay for the expensive dining option every night or he would be sitting next to a guy in a tank top for dinner! Floating prisons.
