Victualling Yard To Be Transformed In ‘Play Land’
The Committee of Five said that this Sunday [July 12] they will “transform the Victualling Yard into Play Land [The Ultimate Adventure Center] to provide fun activities and entertainment for the thousands of visitors and locals found in Dockyard while ships are in port.”
“Large slides, bouncy castles, inflatable obstacle courses, zip line, archery, laser tag, and glitter tattoos are some of the activities that will be available this weekend and, should this initial trial be successful, the plan is to make Play Land a feature every Sunday for the remainder of the tourism season,” the Committee said.
.
Committee of Five Chairperson Eugene Dean explained that, “After the success we experienced producing the Family Festival this past April our team has had several conversations with Wedco and the Tourism Authority about using elements of our model to create additional attractionsin Dockyard on a regular basis.
“We have also received countless accolades from WEDCO, the BTA and local vendors who are all in support of us producing festivalsin Dockyard multiple times each year.
“Plans are currently on the way to produce another Family Festival in Dockyard next month, however in the meantime our goal is to position Play Land as a compliment to the growing list of activities and entertainment options currently available at our premier tourism port.”

Congratulations to Eugene – from Earth Hour Chair to Committee of Five Chair, you always show up in service to our community- thank you for all you do.
Sounds great. What time this Sunday will this adventure begin?
Is this a free event
Why would it be free? How could they control the crowds if it was. Great idea though.
How much will this cost? I bet its not priced for the locals.
The event will take place from 11am- 7 pm.
Free admission, but there will be a charge for the activities.
