Bermuda National Trust Appoints Alma Dismont
The Bermuda National Trust announced that Ms Alma Dismont [pictured] has been selected by the Council of the Trust to serve as the Chairperson of the Advocates for the Environment committee that is charged with reviewing and responding to planning applications and practices that have significant impact on our natural environment and wellbeing; formulating policies on using our natural resources wisely; protecting historic properties and artefacts; and promoting green projects throughout Bermuda.
The President of the Trust, Tim Marshall, welcomed Ms Dismont on board and said, “the Trust is excited to see the enthusiasm and passion that Ms Dismont has for Bermuda’s environment and promoting green initiatives in our community.
“She is a great example of the next generation of young professionals who willingly volunteer their time and energy to make Bermuda a better place for all of us.”
Ms Dismont said, “Bermuda is our home and what a beautiful home we have. Our nature reserves, walking and riding paths, parks, woodlands, pristine beaches and clean ocean waters all contribute to our happiness.
“All of these resources are free for us to enjoy but they exist because Bermudians from one generation to the next gave their time and energy to protecting and preserving the natural environment. I am excited to continue the good work of the National Trust and I will do my best to be a strong advocate for the environment.”
Ms Dismont is a 29 year old attorney who was called to the Bermuda Bar in 2013. She is married to Saul Dismont and they have two children.
