4th Tropical Storm Of Atlantic Hurricane Season

Tropical Storm Danny — the fourth tropical storm of the 2015 hurricane season — formed in the Atlantic today [Aug 18], however the Bermuda Weather Service said it is not a threat to Bermuda at this time.

The BWS said Danny’s closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be 1513 nautical miles to the south east at 6pm on Friday August 21.

The Miami based US National Hurricane Center said that Danny is forecast to strengthen during the next 48 hours, and it is expected to become a hurricane by Thursday.

At present, the storm has maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour, and is moving west at nearly 12 miles per hour.
