August 28, 2015

In partnership with the Health Insurance Department and MoonGate Insurance, Age Concern Bermuda is hosting “Understanding Your Insurance Coverage”, an information session for Age Concern members on Tuesday, September 1, from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Charities House, 25 Point Finger Road, Paget.

“The session will include information on the new benefits and premium changes that are effective September 1st, 2015, for HIP and FutureCare policy holders,” a spokesperson said.

“MoonGate Insurance will provide further insight on market and consumer changes and also describe the features of HealthGap, which is its supplemental health insurance product.

“They will also discuss their recent addition of the WellCard, which already proven to be valuable for seniors. Argus Insurance will also be available to provide information on their home and motor insurance offerings for seniors.”

Claudette Fleming, Executive Director of Age Concern Bermuda stated, ”There seems to be so much going on at such a fast pace. We saw the need to host a special seminar for our members to assist in helping them in understanding the changes in their insurance coverage and how these changes will impact them.

“We are pleased that the Health Insurance Department, MoonGate Insurance and Argus Insurance companies have reached out to us in an effort to achieve our goal of providing reliable information on insurance coverage to our members.

“We urge our members who are HIP and FutureCare subscribers, not to miss this important opportunity to gain clarity on the changes being made to HIP and FutureCare effective September 1st, 2015 and how they will be impacted.”

“For persons who may not be members of Age Concern, we will do our best to accommodate your attendance as well. And, if you are over 50 years old, we invite you to take this opportunity to join Age Concern. Registration for all attendees is required.” indicated Mrs. Fleming.

“The session on September 1st is being hosted for information purposes only. Age Concern members will have another opportunity to speak directly to Health, Seniors, and Environment Minister, the Hon. Jeanne Atherden at Age Concern’s, Annual General Meeting to be held in a few weeks, to voice any specific concerns that they have.” Mrs. Fleming added.
