Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Sept 17], Lekan Scott faced the indictable charges of unlawfully possessing a Colt 45 firearm and unlawfully possessing 5 rounds of .45 calibre ammunition.
Both offences were alleged to have occurred on September 1st 2015. As the charges can only be heard in the Supreme Court, the 26-year-old was not required to enter a plea and was remanded into custody.
Lekan Scott also appeared in court yesterday, where he pleaded guilty to driving without a driver’s licence, speeding, using a hand-held device while driving, possessing 0.25 grams of crack cocaine, and possessing 0.33 grams of cannabis.
On the two drug offences, Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered Social Inquiry and BARC Reports and set sentencing for November 2015, and the Magistrate fined Mr Scott a total of $1,100 on the traffic offences.
Mr Scott will re-appear for mention on the firearm and ammunition charges next month.
