Forbes: Marcus A “Unique Dining Experience”

Marcus’ restaurant — located at the Hamilton Princess – has been named by Forbes as one of the “5 Unique Dining Experiences Around Globe.”

Managed by acclaimed chef Marcus Samuelsson, Marcus’ is a 3,000 square foot restaurant located in the former Gazebo Room of the hotel. The restaurant. which opened in May 2015, seats 180 people, including 30 seats at and around the bar in addition to a private dining area.

Marcus’ kitchen is on two floors and the main dining room features an open kitchen exposing guests to the entire cook line and an indoor wood-burning grill, the only one of its kind in Bermuda. The open layout is intended to impart the energy of the kitchen throughout the restaurant.

The Forbes article says, “After opening successful restaurants in New York and Sweden, celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson expanded his culinary empire with the debut of Marcus’ earlier this summer.

“The restaurant, filled with original modern art from the owner’s collection, offers views of Hamilton Harbour while the open kitchen’s wood-burning grill gives more than a glimpse of the culinary action.

“Samuelsson pays tribute to Caribbean cuisine with dishes like grilled Bermuda onion, jerk pork belly and fish chowder croquettes. Fans of his New York City establishment Streetbird will relish in the whole fried chicken for two offering.”

    Well im sorry but I guess the reporter hasn’t eating here. I’ve been once and sorry to say its hype wasn’t what I thought it should be.

    Well done in getting this recognition. I’ve eaten at Marcus 3 times and while there were some initial staff glitches, they have done a great job each time. To some posters, I’d say – if you don’t like it, then don’t go, but stop being negative.
