Photos: Festal Evensong Celebrates Revd Raths
The Festal Evensong, recognizing the licensing and installation of Major the Revd W. David Raths as Canon Capitular at the Cathedral, took place on Sunday, September 27.
The event saw many friends and parishioners in attendance, with their Majesties Choristers taking part for their first performance in the Cathedral.
Bishop Nicholas Dill believes that installing Revd. Raths as a Canon it is one way of saying thank you to him for his leadership and service and recognizing that he has provided a model of the life of faith in his leadership.
“I am delighted to have this opportunity to recognize a faithful servant of the gospel in Major the Revd. David Raths and to award him the title of Canon,” Bishop Nick previously said.
“David has worked tirelessly for the benefit of the people of St. George’s parish, to put the church on the map and to provide a renewed sense of pride in the strong spiritual and historical heritage of our ancient town.”
