Jessica Lewis Places 4th In 200m Final In Qatar
[Updated with video] The 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships in Doha, Qatar is underway with Bermuda’s Jessica Lewis taking to the track, where she has advanced to the finals of the 200m.
Lewis competed in the T53 Women’s 200m Heat 1 semi-final crossing the line in a time of 32.55, to advance to the final with the third fastest qualifying time.
The sprinter — who won a Parapan Am Games gold medal in record setting style earlier this year — will compete in the 200m finals later today, and will also represent Bermuda in the 800m, 400m and 100m during the World Championships.
Being held from 21-31 October, the competition features around 1,300 athletes from 90 countries and will take place in the 12,000 capacity Qatar Sports Club’s Suhaim Bin Hamam stadium.
