November 22, 2015

devwah-whaleyBermuda football player Devwah Whaley has found himself a 4-star prospect as schools in the United States ramp up their recruitment efforts, with three different institutions reportedly leading the race for his verbal commitment to their teams.

A story in Bleacher Report said “As a national top-five running back, Devwah Whaley is a wanted individual.

“On Sunday, the 4-star prospect from Beaumont, Texas, announced that three schools lead the race for his verbal commitment, which is expected to come at the Under Armour All-America Game on Jan. 2. Whaley said Georgia, Arkansas and Texas are the front-runners.”

“I’m still wide-open at this point,” Whaley said. “I took an unofficial [to Arkansas], but I didn’t really get to do much or hang with the players. That’s what I’m looking for, to get a better feel for everything and to get around the campus.”

“The winner of the Whaley sweepstakes gets a running back who rushed for 1,389 yards and 22 touchdowns for Central High School in his senior year. He rushed for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in his junior year. In those two seasons, Whaley showed his durability by rushing 416 times, including 234 as a senior.”
