Videos: CNN MainSail Features AC In Bermuda

November 14, 2015

CNN’s MainSail, a television programme on CNN International which covers sailing around the world, sent a crew to Bermuda to cover the build up and action of the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series.

Hosted by double Olympic gold medalist Shirley Robertson, the America’s Cup episode features footage of Bermuda as it provides an in-depth look at the sailing series and competition held in Bermuda last month.

“It’s been quite a weekend here in Bermuda, a snapshot of the 35th America’s Cup could offer us,” said Ms Robertson as the episode ends.

“What have we learned – the defenders Oracle Team USA and Jimmy Spithill are up for a fight. Also, you can’t write anyone off, Artemis showed us that. The intensity is really building, and the America’s Cup in 2017 looks set to be a stunner.”

This is the type of thing the complainers about the $77M guarantee don’t think of or don’t want to hear about.

The CNN production cost us nothing but look at the exposure! Stunning!

Never mind the on Island costs CNN incurred producing the piece.

Nope, the complainers will never appreciate this. Without the AC it would have never happened.

I can’t wait to hear the gribbley grub responses to your comments. Let the show begin

      • Coffee says:

You mean the $77million in addition to tens of millions paid to the BTA for this type of free exposure . It just doesn’t add up . Well done CNN , Bermuda hasn’t looked this good since Sam Donaldson did his free piece on the U.S . BASES , WHICH LED TO THIER CLOSURE !

        • Walk in their shoes says:

ugh dont remind us – Sam Donaldson, wonder if Bermuda ever put him on the Stop List for that expose, heh.

        • Triangle Drifter says:

Wrong again Coffee. Go to the library & borrow the book USS Bermuda. Quite an eye opener on a number of fronts.

By the time Donaldson showed up here the writing was on the wall for the US bases here. The Soviet Union was falling to pieces. Satelites were doing the surveilance work that aircraft did before out of Bermuda.

Donalson might have sped the closures up some but he sure was not responsible for them.

How about we all just make positive comments instead of inviting negative ones. Try it, it will be fun!
