Football: Premier, First Division Weekend Results
The St. George’s Colts, Somerset Eagles, St. David’s, North Village Rams and Robin Hood all walked away with wins in this weekend’s Premier Division and First Division football action.
First Division: St. George’s Colts 2 X-Road’s 0
At the Wellington Oval, the St. George’s Colts got two early goals from Jarazhino Bassett in their 2 – 0 win over X-Road’s.
First Division: Somerset Eagles 6 Young Men Social Club 1
At the White Hill Field, previous League Leaders Young Men Social Club recorded their first loss of the season following this 6 – 1 defeat to the Somerset Eagles. Nathan Rego and Anwar Telford scored two goals each, while Davin Riley-Clarke and Kanhai Fray added a goal each for Somerset Eagles. Robert Rawlins scored the lone goal for the Young Men Social Club.
First Division: Paget Lions 1 St. David’s 4
At the Southampton Oval, visiting St. David’s moved to the top of the First Division table all alone following their 4 – 1 win over the Paget Lions. Allan Douglas Jr. would lead the way with a hat-trick, while Shea Pitcher added the other, Y-Ron Astwood scored the lone goal for the Paget Lions.
Premier Division: North Village Rams 3 Boulevard Blazers 1
At the Bernard Park, the North Village Rams got 2 goals from Jason Lee and a single strike from Keishen Bean in their 3 – 1 win over the visiting Boulevard Blazers, Sergio Robinson scored the lone goal for the visitors.
Premier Division: Hamilton Parish 0 PHC Zebras 0
The PHC Zebras returned to the pitch that they lifted the Dudley Eve Trophy five days ago, they recorded yet another shutout, however Hamilton Parish did not allow a goal either as the two teams played to a 0 – 0 draw.
Premier Division: Southampton Rangers 3 Dandy Town Hornets 3
At the Southampton Oval, Akail Bean gave the Southampton Rangers the lead in the 11th minute, an own goal in the 45th minute saw the Southampton Rangers take a 2 – 0 lead into the break. Bean would make it 3 – 0 with his second goal of the game, but with five minutes remaining the Dandy Town Hornets would stage a comeback. Drewonde Bascome would find the back of the net for the Dandy Town Hornets in his first game for the club in the 85th minute, Jason Simons would make it 3 – 2 when he scored for the Dandy Town Hornets in the 90th minute and then Angelo Simmons scored the equalizer in injury time to earn the league leaders a draw.
Premier Division: Devonshire Colts 1 Robin Hood 2
At the Police Field, Nathan Peskett gave visiting Robin Hood the lead in the 5th minute, only to have Kyle Jones equalize for the Devonshire Colts in the 69th minute. LeJuan Simmons scored what proved to be the winner in the 83rd minute for Robin Hood who was playing with ten men after Peskett was sent off.
