Vessel To Disembark Ill Crew Member On Island

The tanker Laurentia Desgagnes, a Barbados-flagged vessel, will make a stop in Bermuda early tomorrow morning [Dec 1] in order to disembark an ill crew member.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre spokesperson said, “At 10.15am today [Nov 30], the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre received a call from the 42810 GRT Motor Tanker ‘Laurentia Desgagnes,’ reporting that a 59-year-old crew member on-board had suffered a possible stroke and was in need of medical attention.

“Following medical advice from ashore, the vessel is diverting to Bermuda and will disembark the crew member via pilot boat at 1.30am tomorrow morning.

“The Barbados flagged vessel, originally on route from Corpus Christi, U.S.A., is expected to resume its voyage to Quebec, Canada.”
