Bermuda’s Top 100 Twitter List For December

Periscope was the innovation of the Year for Twitter. The live-streaming app re-energized the social media platform and outperformed rival Meerkat by a wide margin. Locally, Periscope hasn’t been fully embraced, but some, like PowerGirl Trina and Bernews, have made effective use of it.

The year has been one of growth for local Twitter accounts. Last December it only took 2,000 followers to make it, and now an account needs nearly 3,200.

Fox and WWE commentator John Layfield added nearly 100,000 followers over this past year. Others with good growth this year include Ledrew Fox [14,902 new followers], Webster Butler [wasn’t on the list last year and now has 18,553 followers] and the Bermuda Tourism Authority [+4,200].

Since it’s the end of the year, the list has been expanded to the top 100 Twitter accounts in Bermuda.
