Architect: Registration, Practice & Accountability

IBAKrystald Bermuda Jan 18 2016The Institute of Bermuda Architects [IBA] will host a talk as part of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce Lunch and Learn Series on Wednesday, January 20.

The presentation, entitled “Architect: Registration, Professional Practice and Accountability”, will be presented by Krystal Rodrigues, President, IBA; and Duncan Simons, Vice President, IBA.

The presentation will introduce the audience to the architectural profession, explain the key role architecture plays in establishing the Bermuda image, and outline how architects are charged with protecting the health, safety and welfare of the public.

The talk will introduce the IBA as a membership group, representing 33 local firms comprised of 81 architect and associate members who offer a wide variety of services from pre-design, through contract administration and more.

Ms Rodrigues says: “Construction projects are often the largest investment people will make in their lives and our members understand that they have a significant responsibility to meet the goals of the client and exercise the highest degree of professionalism.

“We also take pride in being part of a long history of iconic architecture that forms the public face Bermuda presents to the world. Anyone who has an interest in architecture or is considering taking on a construction project in Bermuda will find this talk informative and we invite all to attend.”

The Lunch and Learn will be held at the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce at 1 Point Pleasant Road, Hamilton from 12:00pm to 1:30pm on January 20. Cost is $20 for Chamber members and $40 for non-members and includes a sandwich lunch.
