Traffic Delays In Paget During Resurfacing

January 15, 2016

The Ministry of Public Works is informing motorists that a programme of short-duration road resurfacing works will take place for one week commencing on Monday, January 18 at South Road in Paget, on sections between Modern Mart Supermarket and Elbow Beach.

A spokesperson said, “The programme will quickly target the worst sections of uneven carriageway and restore and prolong the life of the existing surface until more extensive overlay strengthening works can be undertaken.

“Traffic will be managed by temporary traffic signals whilst the work is in progress and some traffic delays can be expected. The Ministry apologises for any inconvenience caused during this essential work.

“Further announcements will be made regarding the timing of the next stage of the programme which is expected to include sections of Pitts Bay Road, Serpentine Road, Pembroke and South Road, Southampton.

“Engineers will continue to inspect the Public Road network to identify further sections of road for similar repairs, but the public can assist by reporting bad lengths of Public Road to the Department of Works and Engineering Highways Section at kjmasser@gov.bm

“This initiative will be additional to the Ministry’s existing resurfacing programme which delivers full width resurfacing to longer sections of deteriorated road.”
