RBCC Public Information Session At 6PM Today

February 18, 2016

The RBCC – the RCA [Regulatory Compliance Association] Bermuda Compliance Certification Programme – is inviting the public to attend a public information session at 6.00pm today [Feb 18] at Bermuda College.

George E. Thomas, Jr, Chairman, RCA Bermuda Compliance Certification Programme Committee, said, “The programme is the product of two years of collaboration among various community resources.

“The programme is grounded in a partnership between the Government of Bermuda, Bermuda College and the Regulatory Compliance Association [RCA] specifically designed and implemented to create opportunities for Bermudians to acquire skills that are in demand in the global workforce.

“The ultimate goal is to create job opportunities for Bermudians and enhance Bermuda’s intellectual capital.

“What makes the program especially attractive is the fact that full scholarships are available for qualified applicants who have the right to reside in Bermuda indefinitely.

“This programme enables local people to earn professional designations that are recognized overseas and arms the graduates with valuable skills. The course is delivered online and is self-paced, providing significant flexibility to students.

“The global demand for qualified compliance professionals is growing each year. Regulated businesses around the world are being inundated by an ever-expanding alphabet soup of regulations including FATCA, BEPS, and CRS.

“Compliance professionals ensure that these institutions follow the guidance established by regulatory authorities like Bermuda Monetary Authority. As the regulations expand, so does the need for qualified professionals, here at home and overseas.

“We encourage everyone to come out and learn more about the programme this evening.”

I’ll be there shouting “no, no” while waving my random “young bermewjans say no to intellectual capital” placard, yet not really understanding what I’m protesting about.
