BII Set To Host Women’s Development Series

The Bermuda Insurance Institute [BII] is set to host its first annual Women Development Series, providing a series of lunch and learn workshops designed primarily for female professionals throughout April and May.

The Women’s Development Series will take place at the BII premises at Sofia House at 48 Church Street in Hamilton, with the sessions open to people from any industry.

A spokesperson said, “Throughout April and May 2016, the BII will provide a series of lunch and learn workshops designed primarily for female professionals although the information provided can add value to male professionals as well. Leaders from the business community will be leading the seminars, covering such topics as Communication, Branding, Leadership, and Negotiation.

“Seminar topics and facilitators include but are not limited to Kim Wilkerson, Head of Claims, XLCatlin – Communicating with Confidence, Assertiveness, and Authority – 29-Apr; Kathleen Reardon, CEO Hamilton Re – Professional Branding – May 2; Allison Hill, CEO, Argus Group – Women Leaders Building Diversity – May 11; Cathy Duffy, SVP, XLCatlin – Women and the Art of Negotiation – May 12; Kathleen Faries, CEO Tokio Millenium – Leading with Courage – May 13; Crystal Clay, Director Learning & Development, Chubb – Overcoming Limiting Beliefs – May 19; and Cheryl-Ann Mapp, Corporate Secretary & General Counsel of Ascendant Group – The Power of No! – May 31.

“Some of the other speakers in the Women’s Development Series are Judy Gonsalves, Chief Underwriting Officer, Chubb and Alison Towlson, Chief Operating Officer at Chubb, and Caroline Foulger, formerly a partner at PwC, currently a Director on many Boards including Bermuda Business Development Agency. More speakers are being added to the schedule daily.”
