Bermuda’s young footballers fared well against overseas competition in the inaugural Bermuda Triangle Cup.
The event was held at the National Sports Centre, with local teams winning in all divisions.
Organiser Calvin Blankendal, of the Bermuda Brazilian Football School, said the inaugural tournament drew roughly 250 participants, adding that there is growing interest in the competition.
Also visiting the island during the Triangle Cup was Michael Scanlan of St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in New Jersey, who said he came to Bermuda “looking for opportunities to bring our guys over from New Jersey”.
Bermuda’s Tyler Sousa, who made the transition from the Brazilian Football School to St. Benedict’s, said he was part of “a good team” and “the players were very welcoming”.
The event will take place again next year, April 14-17.
