BPS Appeal For Witnesses: Patrick Dill’s Murder
[Updated with video] The police are appealing to anyone who has information about the murder of Patrick Dill to please contact them, saying that “someone in the community knows the identity of the culprit[s] involved.”
Mr. Dill — who is not believed to have any gang affiliations — was fatally shot on Saturday evening while he was entering his car in the Crosslands Lane, Pembroke area.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Mark Clark said, “About 10.45pm Saturday, 21st May 2016, the Bermuda Police Service received multiple 911 calls of report of gunshots in the area of Crosslands Lane, Pembroke.
“Shortly thereafter a male attended King Edward Memorial Hospital, in the company of a family member. Despite the best efforts of members of The Emergency Department he succumbed to his wounds.
“I can confirm the death of Mr. Patrick Allan Dill. Mr. Patrick Dill is not believed to have any gang affiliations.
“At the time of his shooting he was entering his car to attend a party. He is the father of two, well known, loved by his family and friends. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my sincere condolences to his family and friends of Mr. Patrick Dill.
“Detectives from the Bermuda Police Serious Crime Unit are investigating this murder. This investigation is being led by me.
“We are anxious to speak to anyone in the Crosslands Lane, Border Lane, Friswells Hill, Parsons Road Area who heard or saw anything that they feel would be of assistance.
“Someone in the community knows the identity of the culprit[s] involved. I am appealing to anyone in the community that believes that this senseless killing must stop to come forward immediately and assist the Police.
“We are appealing to anyone who has information that can lead to the offender[s] answering to justice. All information is welcomed and will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
