Police Name Murder Victim: Fiqre Crockwell
[Updated] The police have confirmed that the 30-year-old man who was shot earlier this morning [June 20] has died.
The police responded to the Woodlands Road area at around 3.00am this morning, with the 30-year-old man having been shot and a 46-year-old man suffering from stab wounds.
A police spokesperson said, “The 30 year old male shooting victim has succumbed to his injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. No further information regarding the deceased will be given until next of kin have been notified.”
“The 46 year old male stabbing victim continues to receive treatment for his injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
“Witnesses that can assist the investigation are once again urged to contact Acting Inspector Kenten Trott on 717-2345 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”
Update 2.02pm: The police have formally identified the victim as Fiqre Crockwell, who was a well known cricket player.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family and friends of 30 year old Fiqre Crockwell, who was shot in the Woodlands Road, Pembroke area around 2:55am Monday June 20th and later succumbed to his injuries at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
“Mr. Crockwell’s death marks the second gun murder of 2016. A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist the Crockwell family at this difficult time.
“Detectives from the Serious Crime Unit continue their investigation into this fatal shooting and any witnesses or persons with information regarding suspicious individuals or vehicles in the Woodlands Road, Pembroke area near DeSilva Close around 2:55am Monday should contact Acting Detective Inspector Kenten Trott at the Serious Crime Unit on 717-2345 or the confidential and anonymous Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.”
