Bermuda U20 Football Team Defeat Cayman 3-0

Bermuda’s U20 football team started off competition in Haiti on a great note, defeating the Cayman Islands by a score of 3 – 0.

Bermuda’s team includes Jahtino Richardson-Martin; David Jones; Jahkari Furbert; Nathan Rego; Osagi Bascome; Zenwai Bowen; Jahquill Hill; Detre Bell; Jaz Ratteray Smith; Cameron Neal; Diondre Dowling; Liam Evans; Tehvan Tyrell; Amar Lewis; Paul Douglas; Tahzeiko Harris; Rai Sampson; Jahnaze Swan; and Ahria Simons.

Bermuda took the lead in the 19th minute when Liam Evans found the back of the net, and the two teams went into the break with Bermuda leading 1 – 0.

Bermuda doubled their lead in the 56th minute when Jaz Rattery Smith scored, and in the 87th minute Evans scored his second goal of the game to put Bermuda up 3 – 0, a score that would hold until the final whistle.

Bermuda was drawn in Group 3 along with the Cayman Islands, Anguilla, and host Haiti.

Following last night’s match against the Cayman Islands on June 29, the team is set to face Haiti on July 1 and then close out their stay with their final match against Anguilla.
