We already have a pathway to citizenship – marry one of the local boys/girls.
That’s what Lynne Winfield did.
And someone’s wife, as well as countless other Bermudians—many ‘Bermudians’ have roots in other countries—actually I apologize……every Bermudian has roots from somewhere else
RU serious? Gag!
A non born Bermudian who marries a Bermudian and after 10 years get status wants to dictate as to which non Bermudians who spend 20 years plus here and desire status should or should not receive status because of their colour/perceived voting pattern? No way. To hear this we need to spend $75 and she supports this? Disgusting. Give it to the children who need breakfast.
Its wayyy deeper than that and from your post i can tell your color/voting patern.
Your party will be out soon and the protest will end.
Actually, her former husband is Canadian. They applied and received there status.
Amazing, they did the very thing that they are so against now.
Not surprising!
They arent against anything.
Its simply just facts being put in the table. Facts from the begining of colonized bermuda. Learn some of them then understand why black people are upset with this
That’s not enough and unrealistic.
Build the wall Lynne! Build the wall! LOL
Yeah right, she is inside the wall now, she is not a born Bermudian nor was her husband, they obtained status by living here for a certain length of time and who they knew
So this is how your people treat an activist for equality who strays from the racial lines huh?
Note taken.
You mean like how you lot call blacks surrogates and uncle toms?
But what did the poster say that Lynne isn’t advocating for?
Just like trump who says to buil a wall to keep out people, Lynne has also stated how she is against immigration because of the colour of some of the beneficiaries from such a policy.
So trump is a racist but Lynne is an ‘activist?’
Note taken on the persistent but predictable standards.
*double standards
Your people, nice one. Lynne has her own complex to deal with. Shes not an advocate for equality, she’s someone who wants to close a gate she shouldn’t be guarding in the first place.
…well said. A gate she herself walked through a few decades ago.
Same thing they did to Dr. Barbara Ball.
Sams S!@# different day.
True
One day we will be like the birds and hope we don’t take a ‘Tern’ for the worst.
Humanity.
What must be discussed is the UBP policies !
Where is the bias as regards the individual panelists. Strange choice of people indeed. …And then they expect us to pay to listen/discuss?
This is a morning meeting, which excludes most working people, it is a crucial meeting, yes. Is this a decision making body? Probably not, in the context of this particular meeting. On second thought, yes, cause many of the persons attending are members of the Chamber of Commerce, and they will certainly voice their concerns during the panel discussion, when the floor is open for comment. They will also submit their concerns in various ways in future meetings. Bermuda is apologizing to the many guest workers who have worked a number of years, with-out any hope of being given/granted status to the most recently proposed legislation. Mean-while thousands of b orn bermudians remain out of work, and future generations currently in school have little hope of a part in the labour force.
There will be no winners, what is done is done !
fey ??
?
he states that this process is xenophobic
no one has forgotten
What does CURB have to do with any of this? Why is any of this a racial problem? I thought all of this was a pathway to status not undermining any ethnic background? All very strange!
To Curious. Well said. What does a representative of CURB have to do with the subject matter of PATHWAYS TO STATUS. What does the half brother of a past Premier have to do with this subject matter and indeed what does an Economist(?) have to do with ‘Pathways to Status’. Really ! The Chamber should think this ‘panel selection thru again.
Wow, ms Winfield got status by that wicked UBP and now is trying to prevent others.
What a hypocrite!
