Bermuda Swimmers Make Finals In Bahamas
The 2016 Caribbean Island Swimming Championships is underway in Nassau, Bahamas with swimmers from 30 countries participating, and several Bermuda swimmers set to compete in this evening’s finals.
National Swimming Coach Ben Smith said, “We had a very good start to the meet with many swimmers reaching personal best times. We will have the following swimmers participating in tonight’s finals:
- Ethan Daley 1500 free
- Vanessa Esposito 800 free
- Tyler Mazurek 1500 free
- Sam Williamson 200 Breaststroke
- Julian Fletcher 200 Breaststroke
- Logan Watson-Brown 50 backstroke
- Jack Harvey 50 Backstroke
- Emma Harvey 50 Backstroke
- Brett Smith 50 Backstroke
- Maddelyn Moore 50 Backstroke
- Shannon Hassell 50 Backstroke
- Rebecca Heyliger 50 Backstroke
- Emma Harvey 100 Butterfly [set new CISC record in heats swimming [1:04.68]
Coach Smith said that we will also have the following teams competing in the 4×50 free mixed finals.
- 11-12 Brian Desmond, Sam Williamson, Payton Zelkin and Logan-Watson Brown
- 13-14 Ethan Daley, Jude Moseley, Emma Harvey and Ashley Irby
- 15-17 Maddy Moore, Jesse Washington, Evan Farrow and Shannon Hassell
- 18 and Over Roy Allan-Burch, Julian Fletcher, Lisa Blackburn and Rebecca Heyliger.
