Govt Extend Voluntary Early Retirement Program
The Cabinet Office is advising that it is extending its voluntary early retirement program for eligible persons in the public service.
“Submission deadline is August 29th, 2016 and termination date is September 30th, 2016, with the exception of Education where termination will be June 2017,” a spokesperson said.
“The early retirement scheme applies to Government employees between ages 55 and 64 years old. Individuals must have attained the age of 55 by September 30, 2016, or must be members of the Police, Corrections or Fire Services and who are entitled to receive a pension upon retirement from the public service on the grounds of age or years of service on September 30, 2016.
“The Cabinet Office introduced the voluntary early retirement scheme as a cost-saving measure in 2014.”
Damn, I’m not 55 yet!
How many took the package last year?
Wow!! What about educators?
The article states that educators will be able to leave June 2017, once the age- requirement is met.
Wonder if there are educators who do not have that replacement teacher?
Wow!! If there are educators who aspire to take that package and there is NO ONE to fulfill their role, they cannot retire.
HORRIBLE!!
Happy that educators can NOW apply for transfer. It is healthy, productive and does lead to happier educators, generally.
How about “Take the early retirement or be made redundant”? That ought to thin out the herd at the trough.
No. Educators are NOT herds of people. They are the intelligencia of ALL societies. Please, they are not HERDS OF PEOPLE.
@Triangle Drifter, you’re a real @$$ hole !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It so easily rolls off your tongue to make a statement like that when these are people dealing with real financial situations on a day to day basis like yourself I’m sure.
How long would you have to be working to get this
