JSC On Women’s Issues, Unemployment To Meet
The Parliamentary Joint Select Committee on Women’s Issues and Unemployment will conduct a Public Meeting on Wednesday, 3rd August at 4:00p.m. in the Dr. E.F. Gordon Memorial Hall, located in the BIU Building in Hamilton.
The Chairperson of the Committee is Kim Wilson [PLP] and the Committee Members are Walton Brown [PLP], Georgia Marshall [OBA], Nandi Outerbridge [OBA], Renee Ming [PLP] and Leah Scott [OBA].
“It is expected that the Joint Select Committee will deliberate on matters relating to the various social and economic factors facing women in the workplace and the impact that unemployment is having on women and their families,” a spokesperson said.
“The Committee has invited the Director of the Department of Statistics to meet with them to provide relevant statistical data and analyses on these matters. The Committee has also invited Ms. Kelly Hunt, from the Coalition for the Protection of Children.

“The Parliamentary Joint Select Committee on Women’s Issues and Unemployment is comprised of Members of the House of Assembly and the Senate, and is authorized by Parliament to examine the various challenges facing women in the workplace and the impact that unemployment is having on women in particular and their families. The Committee will in due course report their findings and recommendations for addressing these concerns to Parliament.
“Members of the public are invited to attend and observe the Meeting to be held in Dr. E.F. Gordon Memorial Hall at the B.I.U. Building at 49 Union Square, Hamilton HM 12.”
