Court: 25-Year-Old Man Denies Sending Threat
Appearing in Magistrates Court, a 25-year-old man denied using telecommunications to send a threatening message to a woman.
Mikhail Butterfield pleaded not guilty to a charge that in February 2016, he used telecommunications to send a threatening message to a woman.
The charge alleged that Butterfield had sent the message saying :this is Mikhail. If I don’t see my mother******* kids on Monday b****, I’m coming to kidnap them. F*** off and die.”
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo set trial for 25th August 2016.
Butterfield told the Magistrate that the 25th of August was his birthday, and asked the Magistrate to change the date.
The Magistrate refused and told Butterfield: “Come, we might even have cake for you.” This reply caused audible laughter in the public gallery.
Butterfield was bailed to appear on the 25th and ordered to have no contact with the complainant.
