Appleby Employs Eighteen University Students
Appleby Bermuda employed a record number of 18 university students to participate in the annual Summer Student Programme with five of the students returning from the previous year.
The programme is a part of Appleby’s yearly initiative to expose young Bermudian students to various fields of interest. Students who are considering a career in law, financial services, business or marketing, are placed in departments relating to their studies.
This year, the departments include Corporate, Private Client & Trusts, Human Resources, Marketing and Central Services. Students are also assigned a mentor in their respective department to assist them with their career development.
During their time at Appleby, each student gains critical business relationship skills through exposure to an extensive law library, on-line databanks, networking opportunities and summer social events. Additionally, students partake in internal learning seminars on topics such as, interview techniques, resume writing and various law related topics.
“During their time at Appleby, we aim to provide the students with real life experience and mentoring to assist them with their careers upon graduation,” comments Appleby Bermuda Managing Partner Tim Faries. “Appleby is committed to the Bermuda local community and progressing the future of our youth.”
In addition to the Summer Student Program, Naomi Brown [Somersfield], I. Nevin Forbes [Somersfield] and Shanyce Morris [BHS], are participating in the work shadow programme. This programme allows young students who are considering a career in law to work alongside and gain insight into the day to day work of lawyers.
There will be a law student reception, open to all law students, held at Appleby 10 August at 5pm.

Good, Appleby.
And by “Good, Appleby” I assume you meant “Thank you, Appleby?”
I love hearing about stories like this. Big thanks to Appleby for investing in our youth!
