Chandler Appointed Specialty Reinsurance Head
XL Catlin’s reinsurance operations announced that Christophe Chandler has relocated from Bermuda to London to take up the position of Head of Specialty Reinsurance, London.
Commenting on the appointment, Jonathan Gale, XL Catlin’s Chief Executive, Reinsurance – London said, “Christophe, formerly XL Catlin’s Underwriting Director for Reinsurance in Bermuda, has an excellent reputation and proven track record in the Lloyd’s, Bermuda and continental European marketplaces.
“I worked with Christophe directly in Bermuda and am very pleased that he has agreed to lead our Specialty team in London and develop this important business for XL Catlin.”
Mr. Chandler assumes his latest role with over 20 years’ experience in the re/insurance industry. He joined Catlin in 2002 as an International Property Treaty Underwriter first in London then Bermuda, before moving to help establish Catlin Re Switzerland in 2010 as Underwriting Director for Property.
In 2014 he relocated to Bermuda with Catlin Insurance Company Ltd as Chief Underwriting Officer.
In his early career Mr. Chandler fulfilled roles at Cox Insurance and Willis. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brasenose College, Oxford.
