Scorecard: Day #1 2016 Cup Match Cricket
The much anticipated Cup Match Classic got underway today, with defending champions Somerset Cricket Club winning the toss and sending the challengers St. George’s Cricket Club to bat to start the day off.
St. George’s Cricket Club dug themselves out of a hole of 15/4 to reach 173/6, Allan Douglas Jr and Lionel Cann put on a 119 run 5th wicket partnership, Douglas was the top scorer with 77, while Cann scored 45. St. George’s Declared their inning at 230/9, Malachi Jones returned figures of 10-1-40-3, while Greg Maybury bowled 9-2-43-3.
At the close of play Somerset Cricket Club reached 185/4, with Janeiro Tucker the top scorer with 76 not out, Stephen Outerbridge who was dropped on 6 added 49, George O’Brien was the pick of the St. George’s Cricket Club bowlers with figures of 14-3-46-4.

St. George’s need to rethink their whole process of picking the team. First of all, they only take late into the night picking the team so the bar can make more money. Second, friends and family of selectors and board members get first priority to get into the team. I’ve been a member for over thirty years and I’m done supporting this BS.
