Sand Sculpture Competition Set For September

Nicky Gurret, the director of the Bermuda Sand Sculpture Competition, said she is delighted to announce that the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club and Alexandra Mosher Studio Jewellery are the main sponsors for the 21st Bermuda Sand Sculpture Competition.

The organisers will continue to work with The Department of Youth, Sports and Recreation by providing free workshops for the Department of Youth Sports and Recreation summer camps. There will be free workshops for the public on Saturday 27th August and 2nd September from 5:30 to 6:30pm at Horseshoe Bay.

The event will take place on Saturday 3rd September at Horseshoe Bay Southampton from 10.00am to 5.00pm. There will be four categories: Families, Children 12 year s& under, Teenager 12-19 years and Open [ Adults, Companies, Tourist]

The rules are:

• Building time linit 10am-4pm
• Building lot 10′x10′
• One category per team with teams up to 6 people

A panel of three judges will begin judging at 4pm. Cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd. special prize for best overall.
