Ubersoca Donate Cabins For Fundraiser Walk
The Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre announced their partnership with Ubersoca Cruise for this year’s 20th anniversary BF&M Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, with the team at Ubersoca Cruise donating two cabins for a 5 day, 4-night cruise experience aboard the Norwegian Pearl.
“The Ubersoca Cruise is the first and only full cruise ship charter dedicated exclusively to soca music. It takes place aboard the Norwegian Pearl and sets sail from Miami to Ocho Rios, Jamaica from Nov 9th – 13th 2016,” a spokesperson said.
“The cruise lasts 5 days [4 nights] and features non-stop soca parties. The lineup is second to none and includes over 40 of the world’s leading soca artists and DJs including Kes the Band, Kerwin Dubois, Lyrikal, Ricardo Drue, Destra, Skinny Fabulous, Edwin Yearwood, Skinny Fabulous, Majah Hype, Private Ryan, Nuphoric, Barrie Hype, DJ Stephen [Machel Montano’s official DJ], Dr Jay, Dj Jester and many more. The Cruise promises to be ‘an experience beyond the music’.
“The first cabin is to be used as a fundraising incentive to help encourage participants to raise as much money as possible for our local initiatives.
“Very generously, Ubersoca Cruise has suggested that the second cabin be given to a cancer survivor, alternatively, someone who is currently battling cancer who would likely benefit from such an experience. The recipient will be selected by the staff of the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre and will be announced during the walk.
“We are so excited to announce our partnership with the Ubersoca Cruise this year, especially as it is our 20th anniversary,” says Tara Curtis, Executive Director at Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre.
“Their generosity will no doubt incentivize participants to raise more funds for our charitable outreach initiatives. More importantly it will give us an opportunity to give back to a cancer survivor in our community who we feel is really deserving.”
“The two lucky winners will begin start their holiday in Miami, Florida at the pre-cruise event on 8th November 2016 at The Clevelander Hotel in South Beach Miami.
“The Cruise will depart from Miami on 9th November 2016 and will cruise make its way to Ocho Rios, Jamaica for the J’ouvert Beach Party. The Cruise will also feature live concerts, breakfast limes, pool parties, theme parties, authentic Caribbean food, domino and sports tournaments and other carnival events.
“Ubersoca Cruise is extremely proud to partner with the Bermuda Cancer and Health Centre. Breast Cancer is a devastating disease which affects many of us in Bermuda. We are happy to provide two lucky winners with an opportunity to escape the rigours and stress of cancer treatment.”
“The 20th Anniversary BF&M Breast Cancer Walk will be held on October 20th, 2016 this year at Barr’s Bay Park. Walk packs and registration will begin on September 1st, 2016. The 2016 walk pack includes a 20th anniversary shirt, pin, all registration/pledge/incentive forms and comes in a lunch bag.
