Commission On Frequently Asked Questions

Following its first public hearing on June 27, 2016 as well as information sessions with a variety of business and community organizations, the Commission of Inquiry has produced a list of Frequently Asked Questions [FAQs] to address areas of inquiries from the public.

The FAQ document has been posted at the Commission’s website at www.inquirybermuda.com, and is also reprinted below.

“We have made a commitment to be fair, objective and transparent in the exercise of our remit,” said Commission Chairman Sir Anthony Evans.

“We hope that the answers to these questions will assist the Bermuda public in understanding the manner in which the Commission is conducting its investigations, which will continue throughout the summer, and how they may submit information that may be relevant to these investigations.

“We will continue to update this document, issuing additional advisories through the media and on our Facebook page as warranted,” he added.

The Commission of Inquiry has been charged with investigating the findings of the Auditor General’s report on the Consolidated Fund for the 2010, 2011, and 2012 Financial Years.

The Commission is chaired by international jurist and former Bermuda Court of Appeal judge Sir Anthony Evans. Its members are lawyer and former John Barritt, businesswoman Fiona Luck and businessman Kumi Bradshaw.

The next public hearing to be held by the Commission will be on Wednesday, September 28th at St. Theresa’s Church Hall, Laffan Street, Hamilton beginning at 10:00am.
