TROIKA To Hold Encore Musical Performances

August 27, 2016

Due to the high demand for tickets to TROIKA Bermuda’s sold out performance of their “Work In Progress #6” musical production of “The Color Purple”, TROIKA is having two more encore performances at the Ruth Seaton James Centre for the Performing Arts.

A spokesperson said, “TROIKA is having two more encore performance due to popular demand.

“The first one will be Sunday, August 28th at 5:00pm and the next one will be Tuesday, August 30th at 7:30pm. All ticketing info is still the same [www.ptix.bm/tcp].”

A spokesperson previously said, “‘The Color Purple’ is an inspiring family saga that tells the unforgettable story of a woman who, through love, finds the strength to triumph over adversity and discover her unique voice in the world.

“This musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel [and the popular 1985 Steven Spielberg film] introduces the audience to Celie, a downtrodden young woman whose personal awakening over the course of 40 years forms the arc of this epic story.”

“With a joyous score featuring jazz, ragtime, gospel, African music and blues, The Color Purple is a story of hope, a testament to the healing power of love and a celebration of life.

“The show features an all star Bermudian cast including Candace Furbert, who will star in the lead role of Celie. Candace’s theatre credits include: Dragon and Fairy Godmother in Shrek [UK Tour], The Book of Mormon [Original London Cast at the Prince of Wales Theatre].

“The creative team for this production features direction by Michael McFadden who was responsible for producing the US National Tour of The Colour Purple.”

There is a lot of work that goes into putting on a production like this, they are having two additional shows as it is, and I’m sure the cast will be good and tired by September and looking for much needed rest.I went the first night and thoroughly enjoyed it, Excellent job Troika
