Photos: Students First Day Back To School
Thousands of Bermuda’s students returned to school this morning [Sept 8], with the crowds of children including both little ones enjoying their very first day at “big school”, and older students returning to their studies following the conclusion of summer break.
Parents, guardians, students and teachers alike were beaming with excitement and nervousness as they filled the islands’ schools which have been prepared with classrooms stocked with learning materials.
.
As far as the east end, area MPs including Shadow Minister of Education Lovitta Foggo, St George’s MP Kenneth Bascome, and Senator Renee Ming were seen visiting with the children on this first day of school, and a St George’s Preparatory class had a visit and presention from a member of the Bermuda Police Service.
The photos here include images from St David’s Primary, St David’s Preschool, East End Primary, St George’s Preschool, and St George’s Preparatory.

As Clearwater was built to US Naval specifications the windows do not open so without ventilation there is no air at all. That is why it is a health issue.
has anybody done a cost analysis of the following over a 5 year period:
1) how much would it cost to replace the windows so that they can open freely
versus
2) how much will it cost to run the air conditioning – BELCo
3) how much will be spent on maintaining the airconditioning
4) how many days (estimate) will be lost due to malfunctioning units
5) what is the lifespan of a window versus an airconditioner
