If he doesn’t make it in England, or at least MLS, then every club needs a new scout!

I’m sure he stands a better chance of making it in the MLS then to chase that dream of playing in the BPL. Not because of lack of ability, I don’t want to kill anyones dreams and aspirations, but if we look at history, how many of our players actually play and make it in top English Football teams? What I’m saying is Zeiko already has one foot in the door in regards to playing in the MLS. Most teams scout from the collegiate level, reasons for a college draft. It wont be long before football in the United States becomes one of the top leagues in the world as does all sports when the US starts investing more as we now can see the standard improving. If he is successful in the MLS,which I have no doubt he will be, then he could follow that dream of possibly playing with the big boys over in Europe if that is in fact one of his dreams….just a thought.

You make several valid points. Currently we have close to a half dozen of our players playing for English teams. The future is looking even more brighter as many Bermudians in the age range of 12-17 are currently in academy teams in the UK.

Yes,I agree the future is looking bright. I realize that we have a number of young players and parents that have traveled across the pond in pursue of playing pro football as I have helped a few with my knowledge and experience being an overseas pro many years ago but in a different sport. This has been going on for a number of years but not many get that big break. Not because of lack of talent but because these teams tend to look out for their own or seek players from respectable football countries. ie Nikki Well, with all the success that he has had and his ability to find the back of net, why hasn’t any of the BPL Teams grabbed this man? It will be a lot less damage to their pockets than paying for these overpriced players with a lot less talent than Nikki. Look at the team that he currently plays for and has done so much for, they are not showing him much love! I think that taking the route of the MLS is the best way in making your dreams come true of playing professionally, just my opinion. With saying that, I wish all our youngsters the best of luck, work hard, but most importantly, NEVER GIVE UP!
