AFC Bournemouth Training Camp In Bermuda
Validus Holdings announced the sponsorship of an AFC Bournemouth Training Camp in Bermuda, offering players put forward from local clubs on the island an opportunity to be trained by Premier League coaches, with the possibility of a training experience at AFC Bournemouth.
The camp will take place from Monday, October 24th until Friday, October 28th. Local coaches from various clubs in Bermuda will also attend each session and assist the AFC Bournemouth coaches in an effort to bring the island’s football community together.
The professional coaching team attending from AFC Bournemouth includes:
- Gareth Stewart, Youth Development Programme Coach
- Graham Mills, Head Coach for Youth Development Programme
- Bruce Suraci, Head Coach for Foundation phase
- Steve Manning, Head Coach for Goalkeeping
- Carl Robson, Head of Recruitment
- Andrew Powell, AFC Bournemouth Liaison
On establishing the camp, Chris Silvester, Executive Vice President, Validus Re said, “We remain committed to the local community and are delighted to provide this unique experience to the talent that we have here in Bermuda.”
Joe Roach, Academy Manager and Head of Coaching at AFC Bournemouth, stated, “The coaching clinic planned during the week of October 24th is a further opportunity to bring together talented young players across the island under the watchful eyes of AFC Bournemouth Academy coaches.”
Continued Mr. Roach, “A previous visit in 2015 showed us how in love the Island is with football and allowed staff to see the potential pool of players and enthusiasm and hard work of its coaches, parents and associations. AFC Bournemouth Academy is indebted to Validus Re for its continued support and involvement with Youth Development in Bermuda.”
