Bermuda Harness Pony Racing Season Kicks Off
The 2016/17 Bermuda Harness Pony Racing Season got underway at the National Equestrian Center on Vesey Street.
The opening race of the season saw two horses take to the track with Tyler Lopes in the bike of Google Me win the 1:10&1 and Slower Time Bar Class with time of 1:20&1, while Deon Young in the bike of Shamrock Casper finished second in 1:28&3.
Another 1:10&1 and Slower Time Bar Class saw War Machine with Kiwon Waldron in the bike cross the line first in 1:20 flat, while Andrea Westerfield in the bike of Something Royal was second in 1:22&1.
He 1:08&2 – 1:10 Flat Time Bar Class was won by Iron Mike with Dylan DeSilva in the bike clocking 1:12&2, G.I. Jane and Maurice Raynor finished second in 1:14 flat and Zeno Couper in the bike of Major Medical finished third with a time of 1:18 flat.
Four horses went to the start line for the 1:05-1:06 Time Bar Class Race with Tyler Lopes in the bike of IC’s Overextended crossing the line first in a time of 1:07&1, clocking 1:07&3 was the second place finisher Colin Mello in the bike of Isallaboutme, Andy Stoneham in the bike of Custard the Dragon was third with a time of 1:09&1 and Ryan Manders in the bike of A Touch of Red finished fourth with a time of 1:09&4.
