Minister Does Presentation At Somersfield
Yesterday [Oct 20] the Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance Bob Richards, visited Somersfield Academy to do a presentation on the Airport Redevelopment project to a group of P6 Innovations students.
At the request of the school, Minister Richards discussed the project and answered questions from the students who are learning about the airport project through their Innovations Programme.
Somersfield Academy’s “Innovations” is an inquiry based course of study including science, technology, and culture.
This program encourages flexible thinking whilst engaging students with real-world issues. Prior to yesterday’s presentation, the students had visited the airport to view the new airport model.
Over the years, the school has organised a number of these ‘student inquiries’ on issues that have sparked debate in Bermuda, including the Town Cut project at St Georges, the SDO at Tucker’s Point and the America’s Cup development at Dockyard.
The students will be preparing presentations and reports on the Airport Redevelopment Project that will be made public in the coming weeks.
Thats good, in another 30 years they can say they met de person that caused de problem they’ll be in.
