Police Advise Traffic Caution On Harbour Road

[Updated] Motorists traveling along Harbour Road from Lower Ferry to The Lane are being advised by police to use extra caution until further notice, as the road surface is currently quite slippery.

A police spokesperson said, “Motorists traveling into the City of Hamilton along Harbour Road from Lower Ferry to The Lane are advised to use extra caution until further notice, as the road surface is currently quite slippery.

“Apparently a few crashes have already been reported in that area this morning. However, none of them were serious incidents.

“Works & Engineering has been notified and will assess the mentioned section of road.”

Update 6.44pm: The police said, “Works & Engineering personnel have addressed the reported slippery section of road between Lower Ferry and The Lane on Harbour Road, Paget to rectify traction issues in that area. The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank the motoring public for their patience and cooperation in this matter.”

    If it’s slippery and accidents have occurred then shut the hell down.

    It’s Saturday. PW’s is open but are Public Works.

    That damned road is like ice in places when it’s wet! Just before Invereurie for example. Needs resurfacing!

    If they have 20 or 30 accidents in a short time frame along that stretch of road, then they will have to shut the road down until a remedy is found, or weather conditions improve…if that is the cause.

    What now you want the government to stop the rain! No government needed just slow down until the road is dry.
